The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environmental Program to assess scientific information on climate change. The IPCC publishes reports that summarise the state of the science. The datasets archived herein are coupled ocean-atmosphere general circulation model output that support the Working Group 1 component of the IPCC's 4th Assessment Report.

The forecasts will provide information on coastal and ocean currents and eddies, surface and subsurface ocean properties, that impact and are linked to maritime and commercial operations, defence applications, safety-at-sea, ecological sustainability, regional and global climate.
